Resume of James Flowers’ Life Experiences

   James Flowers has served in ministry for over 30 years.  He faithfully served at Great I Am Church in Pomona for over 20 years.  Under that ministry Elder Flowers served as Associate Pastor, Men’s Sunday School Teacher, Director of Family Life Ministries and Minister of Music.

   In 1987, Pastor Flowers along with his wife founded, MARRIAGE GOD STYLE MINISTRIES. Through this ministry they conducted workshops, seminars, and also hosted, KEEP YOUR HEART.  Through this radio broadcast their audience learned biblical principles of covenant marriage.  Pastor James firmly believes in the importance of healthy marriages and is very passionate in teaching couples how to use the right tools to build godly homes.  He and his wife of 53 years share a deep concern for couples struggling in their relationships.  Under MARRIAGE GOD STYLE MINISTRIES was birthed a support group, MARRIED COUPLES FOR CHRIST.  This group meets from time to time for mentoring, encouragement and fellowship.  Pastor Flowers’ style of teaching is very practical and applicable and it is the mission of the ministry to help couples pursue excellence in their relationships.

   Elder James Flowers has been an ordained elder for over 30 years by the Church of God in Christ, Inc. He teaches the word of God with clarity and sincerity.  Pastor Flowers is also an accomplished musician and psalmist.  In the 80’s he formed a vocal group called, GOD’S SONG.   He has released 3 instrumental CD’s.   Elder Flowers is known throughout the Inland Empire as a musician who loves to usher people into the presence of God with his anointed style of worship

   In 1997, the Lord made an impression on the heart of this man to plant a church in the Inland Empire. Elder Flowers is now the proud pastor of CENTER OF CHRIST MINISTRIES where he serves God and His people in the Inland Empire.  He is also serving as president of the INLAND EMPIRE FAMILY LIFE INSTITUTE.  Currently, Pastor James is the host of RELATIONSHIPS 101, an internet relationship program that tackles the many challenges of adults in their relationships with one another.  The subject matter usually involves teaching timeless lessons on forgiveness, healthy communication skills and how to resolve conflict in relationships on every level.

Life Experiences

  • Kathy Flowers has served in ministry for more than thirty-five years. She currently serves alongside her husband as co-pastor at Center of Christ Ministries in San Bernardino.  She has also served as Director of Children’s Ministry for the last twenty-three years. 
  • Because of her love for children, Kathy is vice president of Leading Ladies International, Inc. This organization serves children ages 0-5 through collaboration with First5, San Bernardino.  Leading Ladies reaches out to parents, caregivers and the community to bring awareness that early literacy is vital to the success of a child’s educational career.
  • In 1987, Kathy and her husband founded, “MARRIAGE GOD’S STYLE” which teaches basic biblical principles to engaged and married couples. Through this ministry they have conducted workshops, seminars and offered private counseling in their home.  They also hosted, “KEEP YOUR HEART”, a radio broadcast that provided teaching tips on how to safeguard the passion of a covenant relationship with your spouse. 
  • Most recently, the Flowers founded the INLAND EMPIRE FAMILY LIFE INSTITUTE, a non-profit organization that implements relationship education through several curriculums. Individuals, couples and families learn effective communication skills, empathy, bonding and how to lovingly support one another.  FAMILY LIFE INSTITUTE provides healing and restoration through learning relationship skills for families that have been fractured and torn apart.
